two of my favourite things!
Doctor Who and EDM? Yes please!
Zed’s Dead is (are?) pretty hot.
Especially for Canadians.
They’re also a dubstep duo I ADORE. Check out their new track, a remix of Sabi’s Wild Heart.
Check out Renegades of Funk NEW mix. Followers Re-blog please :)
Laidback Luke dropped some wicked dubstep mashups in his Coachella set, and careful stalking (I actually just googled his setlist) made me discover ohsnap on soundcloud; all of his mashups are awesome. every. single. one. he takes electro house bangers and killer dubstep and just fuses them perfectly.
and most of his downloads are free! get em all. seriously.
Since I already mentioned dubstep, I figured I should throw in some of the other artists I actually like.
Dubsteps been blowing up lately, and everyone seems to be trying their hand at it, so I can be dubious about new tracks. I’m definitely more of a fan of the UK scene than that of the US scene- the former is more dance focused, whereas the latter can be a bit testosterone heavy.
These guys are Canadian though (and cute! and excellent live!
and cute!), and their music is just….well….sexy. I first heard their rework of Massive Attack’s Paradise Circus (which is also fantastic) and then I saw them live…etc.
I like Caspa. I saw him at Coachella, and he was fun, even on the third day, when I was dying of exhaustion and it was wayyyy too bright out. Plus, he reminds me of my childhood and friendly ghosts, and he takes awesome songs and makes them a new kind of awesome, without horribly wrecking them, or accidentally
killing curing people. Since dubstep can do that. To quote my darling friend, Kelsey:
Dubstep sucks. It’s painful, and hard to listen to…I wouldn’t be surprised if it cured cancer. Because all your cells want to die.
I’m not naming any names, but there are some artists that sound like that, yeah?
I love Florence + the Machine, but I have a decidedly more confused relationship with dubstep. This remix though? Awesome.
Oh, I also just realised I’ve posted a different remix of this song very recently. Music Ninja was right about this being a super popular song, haha.
This is Kito & Reija’s vocal mix of Spor’s Pacifica, an incredible lounge-y version of his original refined dubstep version (I love both, but the chilled out vocals of this one make it the one I prefer).
And if you’re in the mood for some electro house bangers (or more dubstep), just listen to any of the songs by his other moniker, Feed Me.
